Flores Island
Flores is a stunning place to visit. This beautiful and friendly island is located in the middle of Peten Lake and connected to land by a causeway. Known mainly for its proximity to Tikal, the city itself is wonderfully dense with colonial, red-roofed buildings and narrow cobblestone streets.
Tikal
In addition, we will visit Tikal. This is the most impressive archaeological site in Guatemala. This kingdom was one of the most powerful of the ancient Maya and dominated much of the region. Today, it’s one of the most fascinating sites to visit, due to its remote jungle setting.
El Remate
This is the perfect place to relax while watching the sunset and swimming in the lake. Plus, you can explore the Biotopo Cerro Cahuí. This reserve offers great hikes to some stunning lookout points. 20 mammal species roam the area, including spider monkeys and white-tailed deer.
Río Dulce
This protected area offers spectacular scenic beauty and several species of fauna. The canyon, surrounded by lush rainforest, runs through 60 meters high walls. Here, we’ll do a river tour, hike to the Tiger Cave, canoe to hot springs and explore Livingston town.
Semuc Champey
Semuc Champey is a cluster of tiered pools above a natural limestone bridge. Far from any major city, this area has a different feel from anywhere else in Guatemala. People visit Semuc not only to enjoy the natural pools but also to explore the water cave, or tube down the river.
