People have been consuming pulque for at least 2,000 years. In order to make pulque, the indigenous people fermented—instead of distilling—the sap of the agave plant*. Therefore, this prehispanic beverage has a low alcohol content (usually between 2% and 8%).
* The agave is a spiky plant that forms the basis of most of Mexico’s alcoholic drinks.
While in the experiences below, we have the chance to visit the agave fields and taste this sour and frothy drink.
* Keep in mind that, if any aspect of the tour you choose doesn’t suit you, you can always enquire your needs instead of booking. In this case, we will create an itinerary according to your necessities. You can choose to keep it private or make public so other travellers can join.
