The climate across Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize is incredibly diverse, ranging from desert-like regions in the northwest with significant temperature variations to tropical, humid lowlands along the coast.
Temperatures vary significantly depending on altitude. You could experience anything from a chilly 5°C (40°F) in the highlands to a sweltering 40°C (100°F) in coastal and lowland areas. This wide range requires packing layers to adapt to different climates throughout some tours.
The best time to visit is from November to March when the weather is dry and pleasantly cool, although this is also the high season, with more tourists and lively atmospheres, especially around holidays like Día de los Muertos.
April to May marks the end of the dry season. While it’s also a good time to travel, be prepared for scorching temperatures, especially in lower-altitude regions. The landscape can appear quite dry during these months, which may not be as visually appealing.
During the rainy season, June to October, expect frequent, intense afternoon showers. However, these rains cool down the temperatures, making the mornings very pleasant. The countryside is lush, which is perfect for nature enthusiasts!
