The climate of Mesoamerica varies from desert-like regions in the northwest, with considerable temperature intervals between day and night, to low-lying coastal areas which are typically tropical (very hot and humid). Mid regions’ climate is far more moderate and fluctuates with altitude. Nights can be cold over 2,000 metres but, during the day, it is enough to wear just a T-shirt for the whole year.
During the wet season -June to October-, you can find some heavy precipitation if travelling from Central Mexico all the way south to Guatemala (especially in rainforest areas and the Caribbean Coast). Most of the rains occur in the afternoon/evening. On the other hand, during the mornings (while we do most of the activities) the sun rises beautifully clear.
You can check great climate graphs on besttravelmonths.com and weather-and-climate.com. Additionally, check the following chart that we designed. It takes into account temperatures, precipitation, sunny hours, humidity and wildlife seasons.
* Note these dates are just suggestions. All areas can easily be visited during the whole year đ

Optionally, you can bring some other items such as 1 set of casual clothes for evenings out, a pouch or money belt inside your clothing for extra safety, and a book to read during your vacation. If you arrive days before our tour begins, bring or buy a small hand sanitiser for frequent use (we will provide one and you can refill it as needed on the day we begin the tour).
