Tequila and Altavista Petroglyphs

The magic village of Tequila, in the state of Jalisco, contains beautiful colonial architecture apart from multiple distilleries. Moreover, its surrounding agave fields are UNESCO heritage sites.

Agave Fields near Tequila

The most renowned distillery is José Cuervo. We will have the chance to visit it on a tour to discover the tequila as a way of life, meeting jimadores and tequila blenders. Firstly, we will explore the agave fields and explore the famous La Rojeña distillery. After that, you will taste straight from the barrel at the Reserva de la Familia cellar, followed by a professional tasting.

To finish the adventure, we will tour Los Limoneros garden and enjoy some Mexican snacks. The afternoon is free to keep visiting interesting spots, or to have a good nap and rest your drinks! ?

Altavista petroglyphs detail

After visiting Tequila, we will cross into the state of Nayarit and stop to visit the Altavista Petroglyphs. This is one of the largest concentrations of stone engravings in Mexico. The Tecoxquines, who extinct from disease brought by the Spanish, carved these rocks over 2,000 years ago. Today, it is a peregrination site to the Huichol, who use it for religious ceremonies.

Choose any of the tours below if you want to taste the best Tequila and visit the petroglyphs!
